Blog 6: My visit to the church last Friday

Last Friday is the Good Friday,a public holiday. Our tutor asked whether we would go to the church with her to watch a drama. Since I did not have other plans, I went to see the drama. Ms Lim is so kind that she promised that she would picked us at our hotel. It was also surprising that when we went out, Ms Lim had already waited there. The church is located in the north part of Singapore while we girls live in the south. However, Singapore is so small that it only took us 30minutes to get to the church. I was surprised to find that the church is so modern, for I always think that the church should be have a quaint style.

The drama we watched is very interesting. It is a mobile drama, that is to say we have to go down the path to watch every scene of the drama. Although the actors are not professional, I can feel their devotion to the drama. This also taught me a lesson that no matter you are good at it or not, once you put your heart into it, the audience will feel the glamor you radiate. We do not need any angst, just do it. Of all the nine stations, I like the ninth station. It was a kind of musical drama. I was touched by the beautiful song. I may not understand the meaning of the song , but I can feel the joy when the actors song it.

After watching the drama, we were served for some snacks and drinks. There Ms Lim introduced us a woman who is also a Christian. She told us a lot about Jesus. Later we learned that she is a product of NUS, majoring in computer science. She also introduced her husband, who also graduated from SOC in NUS, to us. From that man, I know that university can not only teach us knowledge but also the ability to handle difficulty in our career.

In a word, I think both the drama and the conversation that day teach me a lot of things. I will treasure that.

  1. In fact, I also went to the same church on Friday but in the evening. It is interesting that the senior named NanFeng who invited me to the church used to be a student of Ms.Lim and it was Ms.Lim that invited him to be a Christian in his first year in NUS. What a coincidence! The drama also impressed me a lot because I had never had access to those things when I was in China. NanFeng said that the English those actors spoke is very native and he used to learned a lot from them. The most impressive part for me was the last part of the drama. The music was very touching and inspiring. In brief, it is an excellent experience.

  2. What a pity since my auntie came from China last week, I missed the drama. I agree with you that it is our enthusiasm to the work that determines our achievement. I really appreciate it that I have had more chance to know about Christian since I came to Singapore.

  3. It's really a great chance to learn knowledge about religion. Religion is somehow magic to appeal so many people. Through this experience, I believe you learn the reason more or less.
