So many decisions waiting us to make

Last Thursday, I, with another two of my friends, went to the Vivo City to watch a movie called Salmon fishing in the Yemen. The film is made based on a true story which, from my perspective, is that a officer of British Government and a scientist fell in love in Yemen when they helped a local rich man build a dam so that it not only can raise water there for the arid area, but also can raise fish for people to fish. They three met many challenges there because the local people did not understand them, and they even faced the danger of death. However, they finally conquered the problems and riped the love. Why do I stress that "from my perspective"? Because I am not sure whether it is true or not, for the movie we watched did not have any title, and we can only tell the words by listening, which was a big challenge to us. But fortunatelly, due to our experience in watching movies before, and the sentences we understood, we can almost understand the plot. From the experience, I realized that my listening skills needed to be improved and that forcing myself to the totally english environment when watching a movie without the help of titles is good for our practising.

  1. I totally agree with you. I also found it really has made a difference since I started to watch movies without titles. Even though sometimes I cannot understand certain words, it trains me how to understand according the context.
