Today, after our oral repot, I learned about how to my presentation more attractive and effective. The main three points are confidence, rapport, and rhythm.
Firstly, confidence means that we should trust in ourselves and believe ourselves to address the speech perfectly. During the presentation, we should not let us be seemed awkward and the eye contact is a good solution to it. Confidence is the basis of a successful presentation.
The next part is rapport. Rapport means interaction, that is to say, we need to warm the whole atmosphere up and make both speaker and listeners attracted and interested, as a result of which, we can interact with the audience by some interesting ways, such as asking some funny questions and proposing several l attractive topics. And rapport is the main factor of a perfect speech.
The third part is the rhythm. Through the rhythm, the speaker can emphasize the main points and the listeners can catch the key words and understand the article better. And the intonation is as useful as rhythm to make the report more colorful and interesting. So, rhythm is the skills of a well-designed lecture. In conclusion, not only the three main points should we follow, but also other points such as humor, signature, and so on we need to focus on. Therefore, oral report is not just a cakewalk and we need to make more efforts to get it more charming and excellent.
I also learned a lot in that class!
ReplyDeleteWhat you mention here is rather useful. I'm sure we can make progress after practice.
ReplyDeleteYou've picked up very important and useful tips! I'd highly encourage you to apply them to your oral reports and soon you'll be a confident and effective presenter. If I may add a few points:
ReplyDelete1) Confidence
Yes, it's very important to 'trust and believe in yourself'. Confidence is also built when you've practiced thoroughly what you need to present. This means having to recite your main points and to be able to visualize the actual presentation taking place so that you know precisely the next point and the next slide you'll be talking about.
2) Rapport
In addition to the tips you've learnt, you can also consider the following - smiling, using appropriate hand gestures, and looking at individuals in your audience (in a panning motion). We normally try not to make our audience feel awkward and we also do not want to put them in a difficult position.
3) Rhythm
Yes, speaking in a monotone can put our audience to sleep. We should try to vary our voice, pitch and tone. In addition, we should try to enunciate our words as clearly as possible.
It take lots of practice so keep going! It'll only get better and better!
thinking after doing. It is the road to victory!
ReplyDeleteWhat'more, take care of the grammar when righting!~ Hope you can do better!
