Last week, all of us has chosen our majors on the internet. Once we clicked the button ”submit”, we could not change it anymore. It reminded me some of the decision I have ever made in my life. The interesting thing is that in the past, there were lots of times I considered my choice as my final direction of life . However, now I understand that although some of those choices were important , it could not decide my life.
Actually, a life has too many crossroads. Before I graduated from my high school, what I only concerned about was to be enrolled into Chongqing University and major in Architecture. But only a few months later, everything changed, completely. I left my hometown, I left my country, and I came to Singapore. In fact, this is never in my plan for futre. However, future is always beyond our imagination and there are chance and changes everywhere.
Today, we has chosen a major. Tomorrow, we may change it when we find it boring. Furthermore, when we graduate from NUS, we may not find a job what 100% matches our majors. Serval years later, what we apply in our working may not be the knowledge we have learned in schools at all.
Although we do need to be careful about every choice, we do not have to consider it as a road for the whole life. In a word, be our best for present, make the best choice for tomorrow, prepare ourselves for the unknown change.
Since we need to achive our own goals step by step, what we plan is just for tomorrow, for next week, for next year, but not for the whole life. Sometimes when i looked back, i found the same thing as you that the decision we had thought is pretty important did not seem like to be crucial anymore. Life is changing its direction all the time. What we can do is to seize every moment and try our best.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a adjustable thought. Whenever you are faced with decisions, it doesn't mean the final decision you choose. However, we have to be careful with every decision we make because though the future is unpredictable, we can try to make it develop in the way we want.
