As the research project carries on, I find that I have learned a lot during these weeks. Not only does my knowledge but also the capability have been improved. Today, I would like to review my achievement in the past 4 weeks’ project work and share it with you.
Firstly, there is no doubt that I have learned much about how to do a research, including choosing a topic, designing a questionnaire and analyzing graphs and charts. In my view, the most important thing is the knowledge of how to avoid plagiarism, which, to be more specific, is to use citations. It is the first time that I am exposed to the rigorous definition of plagiarism and realize the significance of respecting to other people’s opinions and works in citations. Although paraphrasing and taking notes on the detailed information of the sources seem to be a little bit troublesome, I appreciate it since it demonstrates the preciseness with regard to academic work.
Furthermore, the experience of distributing questionnaires offers me more opportunities to communicate with unfamiliar people. It is really unforgettable as I seldom handed out questionnaires before. When I was lingering in science canteen, everyone around me seemed to be busy either in eating or studying, which made me stiff and upset. However, after “catching” several people who were playing their mobile phones to help me finish the paper, things began to work smoothly. Although it was embarrassed sometimes when I disturbed other people and received a “No”, most students were really kind and helpful to do me a favor. In our further study and work, it is inevitable to come across such situations in which we have to ask for strangers’ help. Thanks to this kind of experience, I will be more confident to communicate with other people in an appropriate way next time.
Last but not least, I really enjoy the teamwork with my classmates. Just several minutes ago, I received their suggestions for my introduction writing and we exchanged our ideas for data processing. It is incredible that every one of us contributes to the work in different aspects, which integrates the whole project afterwards. Moreover, the communication atmosphere in our team is also pleasant since we try our best to appreciate others’ brilliant opinions in order to reach an agreement at last.
As a whole, I have been equipped with the useful knowledge of doing a research as well as the capability to communicate with either strangers or friends. Hopefully, I can obtain more knowledge and skills in the following weeks and come out a successful research report together with my friends:).

I also have learned and am still learning from the reseach project. I think the sense of unity and individuality are both important. I really apreciate that my teammates are very brilliant, hardworking and considerate and that we cooperate with each other very well. In a group, I think this is the most important.
ReplyDeleteI highly agree with you! The spirit of working in a group and appreciate other's work is really wonderful!
DeleteTo be honest, I really admire your capability of leading. You allocate different jobs to members inour group so that everyone has the oppotunity to show his or her abilities in different aspects. I expect our final work. We will have done a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliment and what I did was just to help us allocate the work. I am happy that we can work together to assist each other's work. Keep going~
DeleteThe process of distributing questionaires also impressed me a lot, for the people around you are all strangers and I am not good at communicating with others. At first, I tried to distribute the questionaire to a man but he rejected me. Then I turned to girls for help and every girl was so kind that they filled the questionaires carefully and I am moved. Since we have tried so hard to do the research, our research must be very good.
ReplyDeleteYou did a very good job on contrubuting to the questionnaire either in designing it or in collating the results. I really appreciate your brilliant ideas:) I believe we will come out with an excellent report!
