Blog6: The Good Friday

Last Friday is Good Friday which is celebrated for the
death of Jesus, and honouredly we were invited by Mrs.Lim to the
Good Friday Drama in Woodlands. Thanks to this, we learned a lot
about Christianity.

There were 9 stations, including Palm Sunday, Trail of
Jesus, The Last Supper, Garden of Gethsemane, Trail before Pilate
and Herod, Via Dolorosa, Crucifixion and Resurrection. This drama
showed how Jesus was betrayed, catched, tortured and killed
. I like the station 3--The Last Supper best. In this
station, Judas showed his extreme sore and acute thinking before
he worked out on Jesus. By using valid expression and excited
voice, the actor of Judas performed so well.

Nevertheless, I also know more about the death of Jesus.
Once I wondered that althought Jesus was the son of God and had
great power, he was tortured by normal human and died. The first
reason is that he wanted to sufer for us who are evil and blunder a
lot and to purge us. The second reason is that the God thought that he was not so
close with human beings, so he came down as Jesus and built a
strong relationship with us by dying for us.

Finally, I got a deeper understanding about God with
Mrs.Lim's explanation of God. Actually, God is not a specific man
or creature who have great power; God is something beyond this.
Personally, God is also beyond the nature and he(it/they?) is
(is/are?) the rule or principle( like the constant G in physics) which subtlely
controls anything or maintains anything. Otherwise, God is
someone who ensures the rule of nature. It is very abstract, right?
No wonder many scientists believe in God.

In short, last Friday was a good day, and I attained much
interesting knowledge and some fantastic ideas.

  1. Thank you for sharing with us your fantastic journey last Friday and I also learned a lot about Jesus through your blog:) It is interesting that you see the God like a principle in the nature just like the constant G in physics. Actually, God is something much more abstract than G, since it can also influence our thinking.

  2. What is the meaning of constant G? God is an abstract concept, so God does not exist in real world. So it is hard for students like me to believe in it. In some way, God=Buddha=mystery.

  3. According to what I have read about Jesus, he suffered a lot during the process that he chose to die because of his mission. He has asked himself many times why he had to suffer such things since he did nothing wrong. At last, he overcame his fear and accomplish his mission successfully. Therefore, I think he is a very great man rather than a God.
