Titanic was a passenger liner that sank
in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg
during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. She is the largest ship in the world at the
time of her maiden voyage and her sinking caused the deaths of 1,517 people,
which is really a tragedy.
However, after 83 years later, in 1995, a
very famous director James Cameron wrote and directed an epic romance and
disaster film about Titanic, which recalled people’s memory of the very famous
ship and impressed them with the beautiful love story between Jack and Rose. Actually, before the film was shown to
screen in 1997, Titanic was not been optimistic about because it was considered as the
most expensive movie at that time.
Unexpectedly, the film became famous all over the world and garnered countless
awards including the Academy Awards.
Besides, it also grossed over 1.8 billion breaking the world box office
records.
Now, on April 5th, 2012, precisely
a century after the sinking of the famous ship and 15 years after the film’s
initial theatrical release, Titanic resurfaces in theaters again. I’m really looking forward to it.
I can still remember the 1st time when I saw Titanic. It was really amazing and touching. I am also looking forward to the 3D version.
